July 4th Fireworks

The HOA for the Bays (right north of us on the other side of Andermatt) reached out to see if we would be interested in contributing to the 4th of July fireworks. Currently this is paid for by Heritage Lakes and the Bays HOA. They hire a company to put on a professional firework show. They thought that if we contributed as well then it would be an even bigger/better show.
They said it costs usually around $5,000 to $6,000 a year. Our part would be 1/3 of the new cost which was quoted to me at $2,500. Our current fund wouldn't be able to support this past the first year, so we would need to collect a special assessment for it, or build it into the dues cost. It would be an increase of roughly $34 a year in HOA costs.
I know the other HOA puts on music and other stuff around holiday and some people enjoy that from our neighborhood. Please share your thoughts here so we can get a gauge of how people feel about this.

Just an update. We decided based on feedback to participate in the 4th of July celebration with the nearby neighborhoods. More to come.
